Well my writing here has dropped off a bit but running is still on track. I am still on the road 4 mornings a week running. Still working on getting my time faster and my distance longer.
I have had some things going on in my professional life that have me somewhat frustrated but running has been a good opportunity to think about my situation and channel the frustrations and anger to something constructive. If you are feeling stress in your life I highly recommend getting out and running through it. The value of exercise as a stress reliever has really hit home with me recently.
I am still shooting for the 5K and 10K this summer. My training is on track and I seem to be getting faster and longer. I still have a ways to go for the 10k, I have to admit that one has me a bit worried just beacause I haven't gone that distance yet. I'll get there but it isn't going to as quickly as I thought it would be when I was new to running and didn't know what I was doing.
The other day my son prayed that "Dad would be happy again" of course we all started laughing but it felt good to know that he was thinking of me. I'm not unhappy. This little setback in my work life is just one of the trials and challenges we are here to work out. Life goes on.
And so will I!
My ramblings about my newfound interest in running and sometimes just whatever happens to pop into my brain.

Been a while but I'm still going...
I haven't posted anything for a few days but I am still running and trying to improve.
I guess I can say at this point that my weight is coming down. Since I started about 9 weeks ago I'm down about 10 pounds. Of the different things I have tried over the past few years to get my weight down to where I want it I can say that running has by far been the most beneficial. It seems to be the way for me at least to get weight off fairly quickly and enjoy myself doing it. I have made a few minor adjustments to my diet but nothing drastic. I cut out pop and ice cream and have so far lived to tell about it.
I will keep moving forward from here, I have about 15 pounds to go to get to my first target.
